Napier's Bones Is The "Right" Way Now?!

The Only Change We Like Is In OUR POCKETS!

It is sad that teaching mathematics at the elementary levels has become a gimmick for about 25 years...that I've noticed. It would behoove many of us to know the what and why some things were begun, or authored that is...

For example, look the real reason for Mama Montessori's method of teaching (yes, that one!) or multiple choice tests. I'll be the first person to admit that techniques are necessary WHEN YOU'RE NOT "GETTING IT" THE CLASSICAL WAY!    That is, try talking tabs to a classical guitarist or Napier's bones to a mathematician. Yes, techniques work, and I know a lot of them, BUT to teach gimmicks as the mainstream? Have we as educator's really taken it upon ourselves to ASSUME that "they won't get it?" How pompous of us!

Any way, do the research, teach your material and introduce the "tricks" as a did you notice or why does this "trick" work. To all the 90's kids:

Why Aren't Centers Used Anymore? Hmmm?

Start with FACTS, not Fads!

Good day to you! I hope all has been well since I've last been online...

It has been several years since my "footprint" has graced this blog. Forgive me, as there have been a lot of changes in the tutorial business. If you need to contact me I can be found in different places: Yelp, Google maps, etc. Simply look for Chairez Tutorial Services. Conquermath is probably how you know me, but there's a business out of England which is the plural form of Conquermath. No, that's not me! You may call me if you'd like.

If you know my full name, you can easily find me online. I hate to be so "cloak and dagger", however, spammers and the like are always giving me grief.

If you are a potential client, I tutor all levels of mathematics. If you are too far away, yes, I do tutoring online!

Thank you and both forementioned names will be online soon. Until then, don't settle for less and always work with the best!

Sincerely,

Mr. Carlos

A Special Heart-felt Thanks to all who have entrusted me with their education!

Good morning!

I would like to thank all of my clients who have supported my business over the past 25 years and counting! I never would have believed that I could actually have a professional that I truly love.

Also, a great "thanks" to all of the referrals I have obtained through the years with all of my satisfied clients. I could not have done it without you! (Remember my humble beginnings at Eastfield in the Learning Assistance Cener?)

To all of my students in high school:
Thank you for your encouragement to keep up with the times. You have certainly kept me from getting rusty when it comes to technology. Thank you for also telling me numerous times, "Mr. Carlos, I thought you were in your 30's! You haven't changed a bit!"

Whether you have been a student of mine in the classroom or a student getting private tutorials, I believe math can be made as simple as PI! In the words of Prime Minister Winston Churchill:

"NEVER GIVE UP!"

And... I hope you haven't yet, ever!

Sincerely,
Mr. Carlos
